My Favourite Quote:

We live so much of our lives without telling anyone.

My Review:

A Quiet Life is one of those books that quietly grows on you with its slow yet steady pace of storytelling, its relatable and gentle characters, and the poignancy of their life stories.

It’s a book about three characters: Chuck, Ella, and Kristen. Each is going through their own loss of loved ones and trying to manoeuvre through their grief while figuring out their next steps in life. These are three distinct lives that cross paths in some way. The beauty of Ethan’s writing is that the characters’ lives do not intersect in a life-changing, bombastic way. They simply touch, share, and depart with a smile.

I am not a big fan of slow books. There are very few slow reads that I have felt comfortable with. I will say A Quiet Life is one of them. It felt cosy. I connected with the characters well, especially with Chuck. And I was happy for their ending.
